2023 European Championships
Competitors from Russia and Belarus not allowed to take part at the 2023 European Championships
Although the iMBRA general meeting in August 2022 decided to allow Russian and Belarusian competitors to take part at official iMBRA events in 2023 (as individual racers, under the neutral iMBRA flag), the same meeting also acknowledged the right of the host nation to have the final decision in the process.
After the iMBRA Committee announced the 2023 event, the city of Konopiska indicated that they are not able to lift the ban on Russian and Belarusian racers attending international sports events in Poland, including the 2023 European Hydro & Offshore Open Championships. The iMBRA Committee decided to accept their decision, which means that racers from Russia and Belarus will not be accepted to take part at the 2023 European Championships in Konopiska.
For iMBRA League races in 2023, the Committee sticks with the pricinples agreed at the general meeting: unless the host nation rejects it, racers from Belarus and Russia will be allowed to take part at iMBRA League races in 2023, as individual participants, under the international iMBRA flag.
